you can't shush me!

news, musings, and other stuff

He’s finally here!

on January 27, 2009

As most of you probably already know, at 3:02pm on Wednesday, January 21st, our son was born. Griffin Depakakibo Evans weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Hey there, baby G!

Hey there, baby G!

We are absolutely crazy about him. We think he is absolutely fantastic and amazing. He has dark eyes and hair. Right now his hair is straight like mine. He has Daddy’s curly eyelashes for sure. We think he has my lips (apparently people are finding then quite kissable), my long feet, and the Amparo nails. Scott thinks he has muscular legs already and is very proud that Griffin can hold his head up on his own and look around.

Scott is a very proud papa. He loves spending tummy time with Griffin, willingly (and lovingly!) changes G’s diapers, and wakes me up for the feedings I’d almost sleep through. He was also an indispensable labor coach. I’ve never been more thankful to have such a caring, supportive husband. And he doesn’t make bad babies either. 🙂

I’d like to thank everyone for the well wishes and support throughout the pregnancy. We hope Griffin has a chance to meet all of you someday!

That’s it for now–we have to get ready for an appointment at the doctor’s office. G is a little jaundiced so we need to go in for a follow-up bilirubin check. We’re not worried, but we do wish that it would get a sunny so that we can get him some of that sunlight.

Of course I’ll go into details about him, his birth, and all the other good stuff in later posts. Toot toot!
